Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 • Arrival and transfer to Tarangire

Tarangire National Park

Land at Kilimanjaro International Airport and drive to Tarangire National Park for an afternoon game drive.

Day 1 Accommodation, Tarangire Meal Plan: Full board

Day 2 • Tarangire to Serengeti

Cross the Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Highlands en route to the Serengeti, with game viewing along the way.

Day 2 Accommodation, Serengeti Meal Plan: Full board

Day 3 • Full day Serengeti game drives

Serengeti National Park

A full day tracking wildlife across the Serengeti plains, with routing adjusted to that week's migration movement.

Activity · HOT AIR BALLOON SAFARI (Optional)

A sunrise balloon flight over the Serengeti plains, followed by a champagne bush breakfast on landing. Booked locally and paid separately — ask your guide to arrange it.

Day 3 Accommodation, Serengeti Meal Plan: Full board

Day 4 • Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater rim

Morning game drive before driving to a lodge on the crater rim, arriving in time for sunset views.

Day 4 Accommodation, Ngorongoro Crater rim Meal Plan: Full board

Day 5 • Full day Ngorongoro Crater floor

Descend 600m to the crater floor for a full day among its exceptionally dense wildlife population.

Thirty meters from the river crossing

They rerouted our whole third day when word came through that the migration had crossed the river north of where we were headed. We watched the crossing from thirty meters away. That kind of local knowledge isn't something you can book off a brochure.
